caruso

2008 gelding by Calico (Cassini I) out of a Silvester, Silebersee mare. This gelding has a huge presence & a lot of technique. From his sire side of Cassini I & Capitol he gains power. From his dam line Caruso inherits a quick front end that his grand sire silvester, was known to predominantly pass on. Caruso is a talented gelding who will go far in the jumper ring. He has plenty of scope to spare and absolutely loves to jump!

His Sire Calico is highly refined Cassini I son. He convinced judges with his excellent top line, flawless conformation, good gaits & energetic push-off at the fence. As expected, Calico did a great job at his 30-day test which he took in 2006 in Neustadt/Dosse, receiving outstanding scores for rideability, & jumping potential. Calico qualifying for the 2008 Bundeschampionat & since then has won many tests for young show jumpers up to medium (M) level.

A large number of the foals from his first crops were awarded premiums by Verbands in various German breeding areas. In 2010 he made his debut as the sire of a licensed son: Chelsea London. He became Reserve Champion of the 2010 Weser-Ems licensing & received a premium at the 2010 Mecklenburg licensing in Redefin. Calico passes on his elegance, noble looks with a light-footedness & sporty appearance.

Cassini is by the legendary Capitol I and out of an ideal Holsteiner mare by Caletto II. A very stately and beautiful, proud stallion, known for his success through his offspring. Cassini completed his stallion performance testing with a class rating of class"1" due to his outstanding scores. He was shown under Bo Kreistoffersen and in l994 wond teh prestigous Federal German Showjumping Championship. After this he was shown by Frankie Sloothaak internationally and won, among others, Arheim Grand Prix, Nations Cup wins and World Cup showjumping events. Cassini I is the sire of Candillo who was champion stallion in 1996. Cassini I has a reputation of producing very rideable offspring.

CapitolCapitol is a real rarity in the ranks of Holsteiner stallions - a show jumping sire, whose name begins with ‘C’ who is not related to Cor de la Bryère. Capitol I was bought by the Holsteiner Verband, & soon established himself as one of the great show jumping sires, represented internationally by jumpers such as Corso (ridden by the Swiss, Willi Meliger), JR Number One (exported to the United States), Caruso Rex, Calle, and most notably of recent times, Cento, a team gold medalist at the Sydney Games, & who missed out of an individual medal by just one rail. According to Bernard le Courtois top 75 jumping stallions in the world, based on the FEI results of the top 2515 jumpers. He finds four major stallion lines: Almé, Cor de la Bryère, Landgraf and Capitol I. Capitol ranks 37th with 8 winners. His best performer is the mare, Gitania - but five of his stallion sons feature in the top 75.The Capitol son, Carthago is ranked No 2 in the world with 36 winners in 2006.

Silvester had a great deal of substance. He had enormous jumping ability with good form & he was very tight with his front legs over fences. He passed this on dominantly to his offspring. Silvester’s performance test results were a combined score of 100.51 & he placed 18/49 in 1981 at Medingen. His best-known jumpers are Silca,Status, Samantha, Salina and Silverver in Europe. In the U.S.,Solomon & the recently deceased trio of Solid Silver, South Pacific & Sabotage. He was also very good under saddle with tremendously active, springy gaits, swinging,ground-covering movement and excellent rideability, which he was able to pass on as well to his sons anddaughters.

Silbersee an Anglo Norman import by theThoroughbred Silver Matal, born in France in 1973, imported & approved in Holstein as a three-year old in 1976. Unlike Silvester and most likely contributing to the attractiveness of Silvano, Silbersee was an mposing gray stallion of 16.2-hands with a beautiful face and excellent topline. He was an international caliber jumper and winner of the World Cup competition at the 1985 German Championships and the Hamburg Showjumping Derby in 1987. Silbersee was of the highest caliber as a jumper with very supple movement.
